Association Services Chief of Staff, League of Southeastern Credit Unions

Cassandra Grayson is Association Services Chief of Staff for the League of Southeastern Credit Unions, Inc. The League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU) represents the Alabama and Florida’s 332 credit unions with 7 million members. She currently serves with 23 years of professional experience in project management, consulting, team leadership, and adult education. She began her career with Florida Credit Union League in 1999 as Vice President of Education. As Association Services Chief of Staff, she oversees and directs the Education, Communications, and Cooperative Initiatives Departments. She ensures sound financial management of Association Services departments budgets and functions. She coordinates with other Executive Management Team members the development of policies and strategies which strengthen and enhance the value of member affiliation. Cassandra also manages the Office of the President and LSCU Board of Directors relations. She is greatly involved in developing and maintaining favorable relationships with member Alabama and Florida credit unions.

With a true passion for education, Cassandra works with credit unions throughout Florida promoting the National Endowment for Financial Education, High School Financial Planning Program - “Credit Unions in the Classroom” - which teaches financial responsibility to youth while in grade school; this program helps to infuse the importance of financial literacy and touches approximately 3,000 Florida high school students annually. She also manages the Florida Credit Union Foundation High School Scholarship Program which gives 40+ high school seniors $1,500 scholarships for college. This program promotes academic achievement, supports community involvement, and enhances community awareness of credit unions to students in Florida.

Prior to joining FCUL, Cassandra worked with IBM Corporation from 1987 to 1994, as an account systems engineer, project manager and consultant for educational technology and city/county government projects. In addition, she worked with Florida A & M University from 1994 to 1996, as Project Evaluation Analyst for the Florida-Georgia Alliance for Minority Participation (FGAMP) Project. During her tenure, she evaluated the progress of the Florida-Georgia Alliance for Minority Participation (FGAMP) Project. This 5 year/$5 million dollar project linked 12 colleges and universities to recruit and retain minority students in undergraduate science, engineering, and mathematics degree programs. This National Science Foundation (NSF) grant program served 635 students with 30 resource persons across Florida and Georgia. Cassandra collected and validated student data from 12 FGAMP colleges and universities; assisted with facilitating change and implementing improvement plans for the program institutions; performed comparative analysis of institutional and alliance enrollment data, budgets, students’ academic progress, and graduation rates on an aggregate basis in the preparation of detailed statistical reports for the NSF; managed the project’s outcomes and served as FGAMP’s liaison to university officials, students, and other stakeholders.

Cassandra has a Master’s Degree in Adult Education and Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, both from Florida A & M University.

  • Appointed to serve on American Association of Credit Union Leagues Education & Training Task Force to increase profitability and to improve delivery of education & training programs to credit unions, 2002 - 2004;
  • Appointed to serve on American Association Credit Union Leagues On-Line Training Task Force to develop an on-line training resource for Leagues, 2002 - 2003;
