Champion of Financial Literacy Award
Purpose: Each year the Florida Financial Literacy Council (FFLC) selects an individual or organization that possesses a strong commitment to financial literacy education in Florida to receive the Champion of Financial Literacy Award.
Criteria: The FFLC has established the criteria listed below to recognize individuals and organizations/programs for their commitment to advancing financial literacy in Florida.
- Innovation & Creativity: Describe how the
individual or program takes an original and resourceful approach
to serving Floridians in need of financial literacy education.
- Quality: Describe how the individual or program’s materials, content and methods are appropriate and useful for helping Floridians develop personal financial management skills to achieve financial independence.
- Impact: Explain the impact that results from the individual or program’s outreach. How many Floridians are reached on an annual basis? How effective is the outreach? In what ways are the results achieved measured?
- Sustainability: Describe the individual or organization’s commitment to continuing to serve those in need of financial literacy education in Florida.
- Scope: Is the program implemented on a statewide, if not does the program have become statewide, or is the program focused to specific need-based groups?
Application Process: The application process regarding the 2012 Champion of Financial Literacy Award will be provided in Spring 2011.
Selection Process: The FFLC will establish a sub-committee to review all nominations received during the application phase. The sub-committee will determine three finalists and convene the full Council for a formal vote to select the award recipient.
